Have you ever blamed your weight gain or inability to lose weight, on a slow metabolism?⁣⁣
⁣⁣
It’s a common complaint I hear from people who are frustrated with the current state of their body.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
So I’m gonna let you in on a little secret.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
You are not broken. And your metabolism isn’t to blame.⁣⁣

(unless of course, you do have a diagnosed metabolic medical condition)
⁣⁣
What’s really going on for 99% of people is that you are simply moving less (especially as you get older).

And most likely eating (and drinking) more calories than you think.
⁣⁣
What is true is that we all have our Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR), which is simply the number of calories we burn each day if we were to just lie in bed all day binge-watching Netflix. And while that number can vary greatly from person to person, it still doesn’t have much of an impact on your ability to lose body fat.⁣

What matters far more for overcoming a “slow metabolism”, is to increase your Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis, also known as NEAT. This is the calories you burn from walking around, cleaning your house, and fidgeting. And it…
