Have you ever blamed your weight gain or inability to lose weight, on a slow metabolism?⁣⁣
⁣⁣
It’s a common complaint I hear from people who are frustrated with the current state of their bodies.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
So I’m gonna let you in on a little secret.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
You are not broken. And your metabolism isn’t to blame.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
What’s really going on is that you are simply moving less.

And most likely eating more than you think.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
What is true is that we all have our individual metabolic rate which is simply the number of calories we burn each day if we were to just lie in bed and binge-watch Netflix. And while that number can vary greatly from person to person, it still doesn’t have much of an impact on your ability to lose body fat.⁣

While diet and exercise get all the limelight for affecting your metabolism. What matters far more (and is widely ignored) for overcoming a “slow metabolism”, is to increase your Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis, also known as N.E.A.T.
